Frequently asked questions...
How does the process of commissioning a pop-art portrait work?
If you are interested in commissioning a Pop Art portrait, other than what's on display in the gallery, then the first thing to do is contact me. Email me with details of what it is you are interested in. For example you may want a painting of Al Pacino from Scarface in black, white and the red that you have just painted your front room in. An attached image of the colour would be good or perhaps the colour reference from the tin of paint you used could be included in the email. Also include the size you are wanting your canvas to be. Most sizes are available or you can give me a rough estimate.
From there I will collate your information and produce a digital proposal sent (email or post) directly back to you with a price which will include postage if required. Once you are happy with the design I can begin work and your canvas will arrive within 4-5 weeks.
For personal portraits see Portraits.Do you only sell the Pop Art canvases in the sizes and colours displayed on your site?
All the designs in the Pop Art gallery are available in any size and colour you desire. Please contact me with any requirements you have and i can price up a painting tailored to your needs.
Can you paint a portrait from any photograph?
I prefer to work from digital photographs as they can be sent via email but I can also work from a good quality print. Should this be your only option I can provide a delivery address upon request to which you can send your print.
Would you be able to paint a portrait of an animal in the Pop Art style?
Yes, providing you have a suitable photograph from which i can work.
Could you paint a family portrait?
Again, yes.
How do I pay for my canvas?
I am in the process of setting up paypal on this site.
As this site is still under developement I can only accept payment by cheque at this time. I will require a 30% deposit to begin your painting. Upon completion of your artwork you will receive an email requesting the outstanding balance. Once the funds have cleared your canvas will be posted to you.
How long will it take to receive my painting?Once your cheque for the full amount has cleared your canvas will be with you in 4-5 weeks. This timescale is an approximation and may vary according to the size and intricacy of the design.
Will I be charged for delivery?
Delivery costs work out to £10-£20 per canvas depending on size and will be added to the prices on display in the galleries. This will be calculated when you place your order.
How will my painting be packaged and delivered?
Your painting will be bubble wrapped and protected on it's journey in double-layered cardboard packaging. The parcel will then be handled and delivered by royal mail. All paintings are guaranteed to arrive in perfect condition.
What is the returns policy?
I aim to give 100% satisfaction in all my works. If you are less than satisfied, I will endeavour to make it right or refund the purchase price of your painting provided it is returned in the same condition it was sent.
What size canvases are available?
Any and all! I can accommadate any preference you may have regarding size of canvas. You control the art! Sizes can be discussed via email in the design stage.
Are you able to match my existing colour scheme?
Yes. An emailed attachment of the colour you desire would be good or perhaps the colour reference and manufacturer from a tin of paint you like. From there i will endeavour to match as closley as possible your colour preference.
How do I hang my painting?
All canvases are supplied with picture wire and are ready to hang. All you need do is provide the nail in the wall!
Will I need a frame?
The final painting won't require a frame as I paint not only the front of your canvas but the sides also, assuring a modern look with clean lines. If you prefer to have a frame then any reputable framer will be able to help.
How do I commission a Pop Art portrait from a personal photograph?
To begin with I will need the photograph sent to me. Ideally this will be a digital image of the largest possible resolution emailed as an attachment. Should you only have a print of the image I can provide a delivery address for smoov, upon request, which you can send your print to.
When contacting me I ask that you provide me with any information (ie size/colour) that you would prefer. If you are unsure of what colours would look best I will provide some digital designs for you based on your image at no extra cost.
Once I have your photo I can begin to prepare some designs which can then be emailed to you for approval. When you are happy with the design I can prepare a quote based on the design and the size of canvas you prefer and upon reciept of approximatly 30% of the overall price I will begin work. The balance is payable upon completion of the canvas. Once your cheque for the full amount has cleared your canvas will arrive with you within 4-5 weeks. This timescale is an approximation and may vary according to the size and intricacy of the design.
